Spoke with the neurologist this afternoon after she reviewed Lauren's labs and EEG. All labs were within normal range, her thyroid was on the extreme end of low so she wants to continue monitoring that but basically said since Lauren has SO much brain damage that she cannot regulate her body temp consistently therefore that causes her heart rate to drop and probably many other things that keep coming up. Her EEG revealed tonic seizures, but overall there was less seizure activity from August. So she indicated that we will not be doing anymore EEG follow ups for a while unless something happens. At this point we will not be changing any medications and see where this takes her.
So some good news, but mostly another dose of reality. Lauren is a miracle and the fact that she is as healthy as she is and can breathe on her own is what we are thankful for a this moment in time. We do not know what the future holds so we embrace every moment with our sweet little angel here on earth.
